We present an injury of the superficial peroneal nerve in the distal region of the leg (nearby to ankle). The patient, a woman of 32 years, sportsman and house landlady, suffered a very symptomatic sensory disorder located in back of the right foot; previously she have submitted 3 weeks to compressive immobilization of the joint of the ankle after a sprain of degree II. The treatment was immediate and was carried out through the placement of a compressive, elastic and adhesive bandage (tensoplastR). The simptomatology included paresthesias in back foot and lateral and anterior region of ankle, and frequent dysesthesias described as radiated pain from mean leg first until fingers; she was not recalling cause neither was presenting weakness. She was sight after four weeks of the beginning in our Unit, and was diagnosed to her very severe axonotmesis of the superficial peroneal right nerve in the region of the ankle. This type of neuropathy is little documented and in our opinion must be had in account in the differential diagnosis of the sensory distal disorders of the inferior extremity, but if take into account to the involved causative mechanism is a form very customary of treatment in traumatology.
